Watering
- Your lawn requires water to grow and stay healthy just like the beautiful plants in your garden. The more water your garden receives the healthier and lusher it will look.
- Every lawn is unique in how it absorbs and retains water, but it is key that the grass roots can access water
- For established lawns we recommended a good soaking each week of around 30 minutes which will saturate the upper surface level of the grass root system.
- For newly sown lawns we recommend a good sprinkling of water every 2 days for the first 4 weeks, to give the new grass seed everything it needs to germinate and thrive. Too much watering in a particular area can cause seed to be washed away. Approximately 4 weeks after we have overseeded your lawn, one of our Grass2Lawn team will revisit your lawn to check on its progress and would then recommend reverting to a weekly water schedule.
- The cost of watering a lawn during the dry periods to ensure it stays healthy is still far cheaper than reseeding/repairing your lawn from drought damage.
- There are a range of different sprinklers, timers, electronic sensors available to make watering your lawn and garden a much easier process. Our team all use sprinklers that they move around their lawns during watering, which they find provides an even amount of water to the ground.
